Anthony F: The Amethyst Garden Inn is an absolute gem! The house itself is stunning—inside and out—with a timeless charm that instantly makes you feel at home. We stayed in the Hydrangea Suite, and it was perfect. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and impeccably clean. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of.
Timothy L: Gem of a place to stay. We stayed for 3days. In a quiet residential neighborhood. Chemise the InnKeeper was Great!!! Close to Forsyth Park. Southern Breakfast every morning was different. Just be aware, no TV’s here but internet worked great. About a mile away from River Street where all the action is at. Had a rental car, so we had no issues getting around and parking. Definitely recommend for anybody that wants to detach from the world for a little while.
Anika H: Overall I’m very happy with this stay. It was comfortable and quiet, yet a short walk or Uber to everything. You feel like you are staying with your great aunt in Savannah :-)
Sarah B: We loved everything about this place! Chemise was so friendly and full of stories. She is an amazing cook and we thoroughly enjoyed her breakfasts. Our room was romantic and the house was close enough to walk to everything. Would recommend to everyone!
reaneyweather: My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at the Amethyst Garden Inn. With a rental car, we had to decide between paying to park at a hotel along River Street or the B & B in the historic district. Being walkers, I am glad we chose the Inn! If you are looking for quiet and quaint and enjoy getting to know the city by tramping through it, stay here. Though it was full, we always found a parking spot in their lot and it is so great to have the run of the house in the evening after returning after a long day. Multiple outdoor spaces allow for time to reflect and decompress from your day. The breakfast and hospitality by Chemise was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great. We stayed in the Rose Room (one of the smaller rooms) but we were perfectly comfortable as we don't spend much time in our room and everyone staying in the house allowed peeks into each other's rooms (what fun!). Our flight out wasn't until evening and we were allowed to leave our car even after checking out. Not one bad thing to say about our stay!
Karen L: This place was magical. Everything about it was top-notch. Charming? Check. Welcoming? Check. Clean? Check. Fun? Check. It was like living in a Hallmark movie for a weekend. Chemise, the hostess of the manor was amazing. She’s been there many years and knows all the 411 on the area and the home. Perfect location. Perfect everything. A rare find.
Lauren Johnson: I absolutely loved staying here the house is just gorgeous. The check in process was seamless and parking was so convenient. The bed was extremely comfortable and the toiletries they provided were very nice. I was in the hydrangea suite which was lovely with 2 bedrooms one with a king bed and one with a queen bed. Chemise was a great host with wonderful breakfast and coffee. I can’t wait to stay here again!
Jennifer Adamson: I stayed here for a retreat from Nov 1-4 and I can’t say enough about how amazing my stay was here. The house is absolutely gorgeous in every way. Our room was comfortable and clean. It was in a great location within walking distance to many attractions. But I think the thing that really made our stay TOP NOTCH was Chemise, our hostess, chef and inn keeper. She was hospitable, attentive and an incredible cook! She made our stay even more memorable. Thank you Chemise!
Kailie Bertoch: We stayed here October 2023 and it was a great experience. We stayed in the dahlia room which was a nice size and had a large comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and the inn has a great location within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. There were a couple things that I would have loved that would’ve put our stay over the top. One is that many of the bed and breakfasts we stayed in on our trip had robes in the rooms which was a nice touch but the amethyst does not. The second is that our room did not have a TV and I don’t think any of the rooms do. After spending all day sightseeing and on my feet I would’ve loved to have been able to come back and watch something. If we return to Savannah we would stay here again and would recommend it to our friends!
Scott Crawford: Cannot say enough good things about the Amethyst Garden Inn. I know there will be other bed and breakfast places, but between the beautiful setting (inside and out), John the owner (very pleasant gentleman) and the hostess Chemise (who is a wonderful cook and local guide) the Amethyst just shines. This is the kind of place that swims in Southern charm and history. The best thing one might say is that even with all the other options, we would be happy to recommend the Amethyst to friends and stay there again on a trip to Savannah. They are a credit to the city.
Anders Bruce: I stayed at the Amethyst Garden Inn while visiting Savannah earlier this spring. My room was richly appointed with comfortable bedding and authentic period pieces. This inn provides a truly luxurious experience. Breakfast is fantastic and the staff are very friendly. Great access to downtown Savannah and the riverside. It was my first visit and I'll certainly be returning!
Amanda: Chemise was the most amazing property manager, what a gem! The home is lovely, her food was fantastic every morning! Our room was perfectly appointed and the bed was super comfortable. We had the most amazing time!
Jennifer: This was our first time staying at a B&B and we loved every second of it!!! Chamise was engaging, a great cook and her communication skills were excellent !! John and Elizabeth, the owners, put us at ease during the tornado warnings, since this was our first experiencing anything like it! They even invited us into their personal space and we all sat and talked until things calmed down! Would definitely stay here again!
Alyssa: The location was amazing, right in the middle of the historic Victorian District walking distance to Forsyth Park. Perfect for romantic strolls in the neighborhood. It was a short Uber ride to the riverfront. It was immaculately clean, the bed was comfortable, the towels were luxurious, there was a nice modern shower, the hostess was charming and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and there was a nice outdoor courtyard. Highly recommend.
Jason: We loved our stay at the quant and cozy Amethyst Garden. Chemise was such a great host and really took care of us. Her breakfast was delicious each morning, we would definitely stay here again. Location is hard to beat.
Amy: This is a beautiful Victorian era home. When you walk inside its like you walked back in time. The owner and house caretaker are both very welcoming and kind. They make you feel at home. They are knowledgeable about the area and make great suggestions. The fresh prepared breakfast is delicious. There are always homemade treats available and a espresso/hot tea station. It is very quiet and peaceful there in the historic part of Savannah overall. Parking was no problem and once you park you can basically walk to most things in the historic district. Our room was nice and clean. The bathroom linen and bed linen is very comfortable and cozy. Our room had a jacuzzi spa tub/shower which was amazing after a long day of sightseeing. I was excited because they even had a small portable fan tucked away in our room which made my evening as Im used to sleeping with a fan on . The room temperature was comfortable but I still sleep better with a fan on. I loved the lighting in the room as it had dimmer switch on them. It was nice to lower the chandelier lights as it almost gave a candle light type glow in the room. I felt right at home and safe.
